A few years back while watching an Old Navy commercial I heard Ingrid Michaelson’s hit, “The Way I Am”, and immediately fell in love with the sound of this singer/songwriter. I have seen Ingrid perform live a myriad of times and she proves her artistry as she sounds much better in person than on any CD track. She has amazing raw talent, unlike those “artists” who seem to use some sort of studio magic to create their album.

“Everybody”, Ingrid’s most recent album, is not one to miss.  I would classify her unique sound as a nice blend of folk and pop. Her lyricism is both smart and intuitive. This album is very quirky, her songs seem soothing and relaxing, yet at the same time are thought provoking and provide just enough depth. Michaelson’s songs have been featured on hit TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, One Tree Hill,  Scrubs and Bones. Her sound is in the same spectrum as Regina Spektor or FEIST. Give her a listen, she will definitely leave you wanting more.
