29 by Adena Halpern

Ellie Jerome is about to turn seventy-five – a “young seventy-five” as her daughter calls it.  The problem is, Ellie doesn’t want to be a “young seventy-five”, she wants to be young again. She looks at the life her granddaughter, Lucy, has with envy.  The late nights out, the boyfriend, the successful career in fashion. When presented with a cake full of candles, Ellie wishes that she could be twenty-nine again, for just one day.  She never expected THAT birthday wish to come true! So when she wakes up the next day with a perfect, wrinkle-free body and perfect vision, no one is more surprised than she is – except maybe Lucy.  Ellie finally has her chance to see what it’s like to be young again, to experience life the way her granddaughter does, and she’s going to live this one day for all it’s worth – boys, clubs, fashion and all!

29 is a light, easy read that investigates whether or not “youth is wasted on the young”.  The adventures of Ellie and Lucy are sure to make you smile and wonder what you would do if you had the chance to do it all again, even just for a day.

This book contains some talk of sex and some mild language.
